A puppet adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale, this humorous and thought-provoking story explores vanity, the lure of appearances, and the strength of being yourself. The tale tells of an emperor more fascinated by fashion than by ruling. Through his own vanity, he falls prey to a pair of cunning swindlers — a story that feels just as relevant today as ever. The performance delights with its vivid set design and the diversity of puppet forms. On stage appears a array of puppets: rod puppets, tintamaresques, hand puppets, marionettes, and clappers — each bringing this timeless story to life in its own unique way.

The performance is participating in the 11th Competition for Staging Classical Works of Polish and European Literature “Klasyka Żywa”.
