access information

We aim to be welcoming and accessible to all. It’s not always easy because our building is more than 70 years old and has some limitations.

Wheelchairs accessibility

Wheelchair spaces can be booked by phone or email.

Main entrance to the theatre is located near Grunwaldzka Street. There is a little ramp for wheelchairs and inside on the left you can find a platform lift to get to the theatre foyer. There are wheelchairs spaces provided at our Main Stage. The accessible toilet is in the foyer on the left, near the Box Office, opposite the dressing room.

Access to our two smaller venues – Chamber Stage and Rehearsal Stage – is more difficult. Please contact our access coordinator to organise help in moving you wheelchair up or down the stairs.

Audio described performances

During these performances, the actors dialogue is incorporated with live commentary that explains what is happening on stage via a headset. The headset will be given to you before you enter the auditorium. If you need an audiodescription, please contact our access coordinator. We will need a few days to organise the support, so please let us know five days before the chosen performance.

Hearing loop

Our Main Stage has a hearing loop installed.

PJM translation

If you need a translation into Polish Sign Language (PJM) or BSL (British Sign Language), please contact our access coordinator. We will need a few days to organise the support, so please let us know five days before the chosen performance or workshop.

Deaf friendly shows

Some of our shows are highly visual with little or no language, e.g. “Four Seasons”, “Here is the House”, “Tides”.
